Testosterone gel is often presented as a simple or “gentler” option—but clinically, it comes with significant limitations. In this short, I explain why testosterone gel is, in my experience, the least reliable delivery method, largely due to highly variable absorption, inconsistent systemic exposure, and real-world challenges with application (including transfer risk, residue, and dosing unpredictability).
