Instead of layered nacre, their surface shows a distinctive flame structure created by a natural micro-crystalline arrangement. Most are found in soft pink to peach tones, but only a very small proportion of conch pearls ever reach gem quality. They cannot be cultured or farmed — what exists is entirely natural
